2023 arrived like any other year, with the drop of a ball for some or quietly in the night for others. For me, it marks the 10th year I have been a photographer. The fact it has been a decade borders on unreal for me. It feels not so long ago that I was sweating over spending $300 for my first camera. I blinked, and ten years have passed. During this time I have gotten married, moved twice, gone full time and welcomed my firstborn daughter to the world.
Life has this tendency to speed up when we aren’t looking. It rushes by while we are busy living. I am thankful for the ten years I have spent behind the lens. Photography is a great adventure. No matter what the shutter closes around, it always captures meaning.
Weddings and families are what I photograph most often. Through that I have had the pleasure of sharing in abundant joy and love with my clients. Through photography I have seen a spectrum of human emotions all captured with the click of my camera. I love this art form.
I look forward to another 10 years of life in photography. Photography is expression to me. It is showing life as it was lived by real people. Look at the frames in your home or albums on your phone. Those are the memories you want to cherish. I’m thankful I get to be the one to capture those moments. If you have been here the entire time, thank you. If you just got here, thank you. Thank you all for working with me as clients and friends. I have a lot planned for this year. Follow me on Instagram or sign up for my newsletter to stay informed. I’ll share more later. Here’s to another decade of shutter clicks and smiles.
